The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a monitoring system for marine traffic. The AIS system operates on 2 dedicated VHF frequencies (161.975 and 162.025 MHz) which allows the user to receive real time information about the traffic in the surrounding area.

Glomex wants to make life easier for boat owners by offering a new universal, rugged, high performance, and fast fitting AIS antenna; the RA300AIS.

This new antenna, made with the best raw materials, is composed of a fiberglass tube, resistant to stress and treated with anti-yellowing paint, which protects the internal brass elements. The antenna is 4’, and has a gain of 3dB. This antenna can be used for masthead installations in order to have the best possible range or can be used on power boats thanks to various optional mounts. On the bottom, the antenna has a 5/8”x24 threaded ferrule that can be matched with optional brackets and mounts for versatile mounting options and is terminated with a special FME connector. Moreover, the antenna can be provided with Glomex high quality, low loss coaxial cable (RG-8X) offered in various lengths and already pre-installed at both terminations with a special professional and miniaturized FME connector.

All of these features allow boat owners to have great freedom in the implementation of the AIS system and have an extremely easy and fast installation, thanks to the FME-UHF adapter and various optional accessories.
